Shira is no longer a solo tool. The new TEAM plan puts your whole team on one set of roadmaps — with personal space for everyone, and a clear record of who changed what.

👥 Introducing the TEAM plan

Pick your plan when you activate your account:

Your roadmaps stay shareable with as many viewers as you like on either plan — TEAM is about editing them together.

Invite your team by link

• Create a shareable invitation link from the new Team members screen, copy it, and send it however you like.
• Invitations are bound to the email you invite, so a link can't be forwarded to someone else.
• Each pending invitation reserves a seat, and the screen shows your seat usage at a glance — "3 of 10 seats used".
• Revoke an invitation that's no longer wanted, and free the seat again.
• Invitees are asked for their name as they join, so the team sees a real person, not an email address.

Manage who's on the team

• Disable a member temporarily — they keep their seat, and you can re-enable them any time.
• Remove a member for good and free their seat.
• Every member's state is visible in one table: Owner, Active, Disabled, No seat, Pending invitation.

🗂 Team roadmaps and personal roadmaps

In a TEAM workspace your roadmap list gains two tabs:

• Team — the shared roadmaps everyone on the team can open and edit.
• My — your own roadmaps, visible to nobody else, even the owner.

✍️ Who did what

• Author column — every team roadmap shows who created it, with their avatar and name.
• Version history shows the saver — open any version and you see who saved it, alongside when.
• Favourites are personal. Your stars are yours alone; starring a team roadmap doesn't clutter anyone else's Favourites. Your existing stars carry over untouched.
• Only the workspace owner can delete team roadmaps. Members can always delete their own personal ones.

🏢 Workspaces in the header

• The workspace you're in is named in the header, with an icon telling you whether it's a team or an individual workspace.
• Belong to more than one? Switch workspace from the account menu.

✨ Polish across the app

• Branded sign-in and verification emails — the Cognito login page now looks like Shira, and new accounts get a properly designed welcome email instead of a bare one-line code.
• A real "page not found" page, illustrated and on-brand, instead of a browser error.
• A friendly heads-up on phones — Shira is built for a desktop canvas, and the mobile overlay now says so (and can be dismissed if you want to look around anyway).
• Cancelling account activation signs you out cleanly, after a confirmation.

⚡ Fixes and reliability

• Autosave rebuilt. Changes are now queued and saved after a short pause (and at least every 15 seconds), so a save can never interrupt a drag — and anything outstanding is saved before you leave the editor.
• Week numbers fixed. The week timescale dropped week 53 in 53-week years (2020, 2026) and invented one in 2023. Both are corrected.

Favourites, a dashboard that grows with your work, and a refreshed look throughout.

Favourite roadmaps (new)

The plans you open every day shouldn't be buried in a list.

• Star any roadmap straight from the dashboard — one click, no dialog.
• A new Favourites view in the sidebar shows only your starred roadmaps.
• The star flips instantly and stays in sync across your account.

A dashboard that keeps up

• Newest first — your most recent roadmaps are now at the top of the list, always.
• Load more — no more fixed cap on what you can see. Page through your whole library as it grows.

Refreshed navigation

• The sidebar now has icons for every section and a softer, rounded highlight on the one you're in.
• Your profile picture — a distinctive avatar generated from your name — replaces the generic account icon in the header and on My Account.
• The account menu shows who's signed in at a glance, with your name and email above clearly labelled actions.
• "Back to Settings" links on My Account and Billing, so you can always navigate back up.
• A larger, clearer page title in the header.

Fixes

Snapshots and version history arrive: keep named checkpoints of a plan, see what changed since, and roll back.

Snapshots (new)

Take a named copy of a roadmap at any moment — a baseline before a replan, the version you showed the steering committee, the plan as it stood at quarter start.

• Take a snapshot from the canvas toolbar. Name it yourself, or accept the suggested date-and-time name.
• The snapshot count sits next to the roadmap title, so you always know a roadmap has checkpoints behind it.
• A dedicated snapshot viewer shows any snapshot on a read-only canvas, newest first, each stamped with when it was taken.
• Rename, delete, or Extract to new roadmap — turn any snapshot into a roadmap of its own and keep planning from there (with a confirmation before it happens).
• Up to 10 snapshots per roadmap.

Compare a snapshot against today's plan

Inside the snapshot viewer, pick Compare with… and lay an earlier snapshot under the current plan:

• Everything added since, changed, and removed since is drawn straight on the canvas and counted in a bar at the top.
• Click a count to isolate it — just the added items, just the removed ones — with the rest pushed back.
• Renamed items show both names, old and new. A renamed roadmap counts as a change too.
• The comparison spans both plans' date windows, so nothing falls off the edge.

Version history (BETA)

Every save to the cloud is now a version you can go back to. Open Version history from the main menu:

• Browse recent versions (up to 100), each timestamped to the second.
• Preview any version on the canvas before deciding.
• Restore it onto the roadmap, or extract it to a new roadmap to keep both.

Dashboard

• Delete a roadmap you no longer need, from the row menu.
• Download any roadmap as a .shira file without opening it.
• One-click share — the share icon on a shared roadmap opens the public view directly.

Account

• Change your password from My Account, without leaving Shira.
• New Account details card showing your client ID and the date your account was created.
• Account details refresh on every visit, so what you see is always current.

Suspended accounts

• Your work stays yours — a suspended account can still download its roadmaps.
• The suspension notice now points straight at billing with a Check billing action, instead of asking you to contact support.

Fixes and performance

• Dragging an activity no longer snaps back if an autosave lands mid-drag.
• Autosave is debounced, so a busy editing session makes far fewer round trips.
• Snapshots are stored separately from the plan, keeping roadmaps with many checkpoints fast to open and save.
• The canvas no longer stretches and grows a horizontal scrollbar when a date tooltip appears near the right edge.
• Opening a dialog no longer shifts the page as the scrollbar disappears.

A brand-new editing experience

The new editor gives you much more freedom to build and adjust your roadmap directly on the canvas. Simply point, click, drag and move elements wherever you need them.

• Date indicator: Move your cursor around the roadmap canvas to see the corresponding date.
• Quickly add an activity: Click anywhere on the canvas to add an activity! No dialog boxes required.
• Add an activity to an existing row: Click an available space in a row to add an activity there.
• Add an activity to a new row: Hover below the final row in a category to expand it, then click to add an activity.
• Drag an activity from anywhere: Grab an activity anywhere on its surface to move it, there is no longer a dedicated drag handle.
• Move an activity to another row: Simply drag it to the desired row.
• Move an activity while preserving its dates: Hold Command on macOS or Control on Windows while dragging the activity to another row. Its dates will remain locked.
• Create a new category while moving an activity: Drag an activity towards the bottom of the roadmap, where a placeholder will appear for creating a new category.
• Prevent overlapping activities: Activities can no longer overlap. If an edit or duration change would cause an overlap, the layout will adjust automatically.
• Duplicate an activity: A duplicated activity will appear in the row directly below the original.
• Quickly add a milestone: Hold Alt and click a row to add a milestone without opening a dialog box.
• Add more milestones: If a category already has a milestone row, simply click it to add another milestone.
• Automatic milestone stacking: Milestones will not overlap. Additional rows are created automatically whenever they are needed.
• New options menu for activities and milestones: Hover over an activity or milestone to reveal the options button. You no longer need to right-click to open the contextual menu.
• Sticky timeline header: When scrolling through a roadmap that extends beyond the visible area, the timeline header remains fixed at the top.
• New activity color palette
• New design for the Today/Now label
• New canvas design for empty roadmaps

Export to PPTX (Beta)

Need a PowerPoint presentation of your current roadmap? Select Export to PPTX from the main menu.

The exported presentation is built using native PowerPoint shapes and objects, so you can continue editing it directly in PowerPoint. This feature is still in beta, so some elements may not yet be rendered perfectly.

Milestones as a part of your roadmap

Beside activities you can add milestones to be part of roadmap.

Pro tip: Hold option / ALT while clicking on the roadmap to quickly add a milestone.

Redesigned toolbar and new formatting drawer

Toolbar is redesigned to be more compact and to make room for new features.

Beside Add activity button which is redesigned there is now Add milestone button. Format button now opens side drawer with formatting options for roadmap and activities instead of showing a dropdown menu.

• Improved: More details in Comfortable view (start and end dates with duration of activity)
• New: Start and end date shown in timeline header. Clicking on the dates allows quick change of a timeline
• Bugfix: Unsaved changes indicator position with title of roadmap
• Bugfix: Download PNG image generates full height image from roadmap

Shira cloud version

If you are tiered of saving your roadmaps to files and want to have access to them from anywhere, you can now use Shira cloud version.

It is available at app.shiraroadmap.com. You can create an account and start using its trial version for free.

Updated toolbar and Auto-Save

• New: All changes in cloud version are automatically saved
• New: UNDO / REDO is here to help you quickly revert or re-apply changes on your roadmap.
• New: SHARE your roadmaps with others by sharing the link.

Click and drag category names in the left sidebar to reorder them.

• New: Reorder categories with mouse drag and drop.
• Improved: Start of week set to be Monday on all calendar pickers to follow ISO 8601 standard used for week numbers

For shorter timelines (up to 45 days) you can select Day timescale. Timlines with duration up to 100 days can use Week timescale. Week numbers are based on ISO 8601 standard.

• New: Today milestone (NOW) visibility can be configured.
• New: Shorter timelines are available (min 28 days).
• Improved: Moving and resizing of activities adjusted to support more precise control.

Roadmap activity contextual menu is there.

Right mouse click (secondary click on Mac) on a roadmap activity will popup menu that allows you to Edit, Delete or Duplicate.

• Improved: Export to PNG starts image download instead of opening image in new tab
• Bugfix: Exporting to PNG of empty roadmap is not possible

Point your mouse over activity to see the resizing handles.

Use left handle to change start date and right handle to change end date.
Click on the top handle and drag to move the activity.

After initial launch, one of the most requested features is finally here: Custom Colors for Activities.
